Happy

Posted by mike on Aug 30, 2007 in Doctoral Adventure, Thoughts on classes |

I blogged yesterday about my disappointment in my RES/722 instructor’s lack of quality and my expressed desire to bump classes. Today my Academic Counselor called me back and made way for me to enter a new class starting later this month. My preference was just to bump sections but that option is not available.

It was agreed that getting out of this class is necessary for my personal success. A choice that has a price. I now begin classes on September 25 and that pushes all my subsequent classes and residency out 4 weeks. Bummer. But much less of a bummer than sticking to a substandard classroom environment.

My Academic Counselor qualified the instructor as an excellent statistician and agreed that English is not a native language to this instructor. I expressed my disappointment that this instructor needs to be both excellent in stats and proficient in English. Whatever the outcome, I am free of this class and getting ready to take it on again on September 25.

Another great example of flexibility in adult learning and excellent customer service at University of Phoenix. I am thrilled.
