Almost 5 weeks since the initial planting and things seem to be going in sporadic busts. One of the three plantings has gone wild. It is about 12 inches and has almost reached the trellis. The other two have slowed or stalled a few times. It might be a nutrient issue, which I think I can resolve this week along with the replacement of other plants that failed to survive the transplanting and drenching rains this weekend.

I am eager to get the whole system going, and common wisdom suggests nutrients, water, and leaving them alone to grow. “Voracious,” one person told me, “like a weed”. We’ll see.

Tomato is planted and surviving. I am going to compliment it with 2 other tomato plants this weekend. I need to replace my pickling cucumbers and green peppers. The pumpkin plant seems to be doing well. The herbs are kaput. I might place marigolds…lol.
