I consider my blog a type of publication, and my about page to be akin to those “About the Author” sections. Sue Waters mentioned in a response to my Day 2: First Time Reader Audit that she is, “not a fan of the style of [my] about page”. I e-mailed her and asked her to expound her comment. She replied and explained that, “Well Mike’s is the same. You [are] both talking in…third person…your blog is inviting and you have a happy cheerful face which makes your blog all personal, and then you read the about which removes all personal aspects”. She goes on to suggest a style similar to that of Danielle’s page, who is a member of the Building a Better Blog Community. I had read Danielle’s page in response to her forum post concerning her updates to her page. Like many who responded to her post, I thought her page to be comprehensive. However, I just couldn’t get past my vision of the page following an “about the Author” like style.
